The ABC Greater Baltimore Excellence in Construction program is an annual self-nominating award where contractors submit their projects for recognition. Applications are judged by impartial members of the construction industry, including engineers and architects, for each award. JBC has enjoyed submitting at least one project each year for several years to recognize the hard work of our team members and subcontractors as we continue to work harder and build smarter!

2021 Excellence in Construction Awards

JBC is proud to share that our University of Maryland Medical Center – Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Unit project received a Merit Award in 2021! The pre-construction phase was key to the project’s success, as JBC worked with Inquiry | Architecture + Design to ensure the proper doors, windows, and finishes, specified for their safety rating and approved use in psychiatric spaces, were used and procured far enough in advance to maintain the project schedule. During construction, team members Nick M., Paul F., Nick G., and Greg G. all worked together to ensure a successful renovation on both the 11th and 12th floors. We are so grateful for ALL of their hard work on this project, and also want to thank Jason F. and Royer Z. who helped out during crunch time as the project neared completion. Projects like this take an army!
